Tier 1

The term tier one refers to the NTA`s Models of Care. Tier one services work with a wide range of clients including drug and alcohol misusers but their sole purpose is not drug or alcohol treatment. An example of a tier one worker is someone who works in an Accident and Emergency Department or a housing outreach worker. They need to have information about drugs people commonly use and their effects. They would need to know what services are available to drug users and how to access these services.

This section of the website has information about basic drugs awareness training available in the partnership areas for tier one workers.
