Substance Misuse Qualifications
City of Bristol College are a test and trial pilot for the new Substance Misuse Qualifications.
The Substance Misuse Qualifications have been developed by Skills for Justice, City and Guilds, Edexcel and Skills for Health.
Who are they for?
The Substance Misuse Qualifications have been designed for:-
Are they part of a recognsied framework?
The qualifications are derived from relevant National Occupational Standards for the sector and are endorsed by Skills for Health, Skills for Justice and Skills for Care.
As they are derived from relevant NOS the Units achieved within these qulaificaitons are directly equivalent and can be used as direct transfers within the relevant NVQ`s in Health and Social Care.
The qualifications are part of the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) fro England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The units have been assigned a clear Level and Credit value and can be used to progress to further qualifications in the Justice, Health and Social Care sectors.
What qualifications are available?
Four qualifications are available in this suite.
The final qualification gained is based on the selection of Units relevant to the learner`s work role. Learners can select from a choice of 33 available Units.
The Award is gained through the achievement of a minimum 10 credits and the Certifcate through a minimum of 18 credits.
Each credit equates to about 10 hours of learning.
